First run I got some pains in my forefoot. Day after some mild pains in my calfs and Achilles tendons. After 4 or 5 runs I got adjusted to the shoes and the feel a bit more comfortable running. I would have liked to have the foam and bounce to feel a bit more like the metaspeed sky. Softer in the forefoot.

Quality daily trainers
They feel very bouncy and light with a nice sized toe box. Can even pick up the pace in them. So far so good!

So disappointing!
I’ve run a little over 150 miles in the Novablast 5 and I have to say that I’m very disappointed. Out of the box, the shoes feel great. They have lots of bounce and energy return to the point where walking in them felt weird, like your feet are being pushed off the ground. But the bounce disappears quickly. I bought these to replace my Novablast 4s which lasted over 450 miles before I started to notice the shoe going flat. These have made it only 150 miles… Reading other reviews online I guess this is common for the NB5 but it’s so disappointing. The NB4 was my favorite running shoe ever. For reference, I am 6’2”, 160lbs. I’m a mid-foot to forefoot striker and tend to over pronate. Pace for Z2 runs is 8:00 min/mile. 40-50 miles per week while training.

Warranty Claim
Son loves the shoes for running. Disappointed that the previous Novablast sole was tearing off in 6 months. Also was very surprised that when a shoe is covered under warranty that I still had to pay more for the new shoe. ASICS, when a shoe so covered under a warranty claim you shoe have to pay NOTHING for the same model shoe you’re replacing the old one with. Your warranty leaves little to be desired and will be looking at another brand shoe for my son in the future.

Insoles make long runs miserable
I really wanted to love these shoes but the insoles are killing me. I have owned the Novablast 3’s and 4’s previously and haven’t had this issue before. I haven’t had this issue ever in my 20 years of running. When I run for more than an hour the insoles begin to slide out of heel of the shoe and dig into my Achilles. If I run 10 miles I’ll have to stop and reinsert my insoles at least three times. No matter how tight I tie my shoes and use the heel locks it still happens. It’s driving me crazy and making me avoid these shoes. Hopefully I just got a bad pair and this isn’t a future problem with this line.

My Favorite!
Best running shoes that I have had in the last 4 years. Was searching for a replacement for the NB 1080 as they have gotten softer through the later generations. This shoe has great energy return and cushion, I feel light and fast again!! Can’t say enough, have been and will be recommending it to all my friends.
